Exodus creates a mascot to kick the ass of this other group’s mascot

I got you! Exodus has just released a new music video for “Clickbait”, the latest song from the highly anticipated Persona non grata album, which is scheduled to arrive on November 19.

This latest single was preceded by the furious “The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)” and continues in the same vein – relentlessly as Exodus delivers another of the most rabid and edgy songs of their entire career.

We’re not going to lie to you here – we conspired a bit with Nuclear Blast to help you point your way to that last piece of Exodus and it was only fair to show you what a real clickbait looks like. This time around, however, there’s actually a reward for clicking (the song!), Instead of being disappointed that the story you’re reading has nothing to do with the title that circled you.

Now that we’ve all learned a lesson Gary Holt commented on this steamy Persona non grata offering and exclaimed, “Very excited to kick off the release of ‘Clickbait’ from our next album! Overwhelming and aggressive as hell, it perfectly captures the power of the new album! More and more excited by the day. November 19 cannot come fast enough! “

Exodus, Lyrics of “Clickbait”

False headlines full of lies
to entertain us
Promises made to attract you
yet nothing has been won
I attract you like vultures
to a pile of rotten meat
The trap is bolded
As we swallow the deception

So naive
So easily deceived
So ignorant
Fall for all the tales they weave
they deceive
They speak and every word we hear
Hear only what we think we need

We take the clickbait
Follow as they lead
With every word captivating him
We blindly follow
Their trail like human sheep
Never awake, always asleep

Distort people’s words and then
they pour them into your ears
In the lies, out with the truth
all the facts disappear
The words spoken are mutilated into the ones you never meant to say
All twisted, corrupting all intention

Our master journalists
Command and we obey
Line up like lemmings
That feed these birds of prey
Do what we say not what we do
Stop thinking for yourself
Scream for more red meat
By gnawing at the bone
