Some expressed optimism on Tuesday after Hochul’s speech; other New Yorkers have said they are worried.
“I would like to see Governor Hochul replace Governor Cuomo, ”said Martha Flores-Vazquez, resident and politician of Queens.
She said she was a supporter of former Governor Andrew Cuomo and believed he had handled the pandemic well. She said she loves Hochul and hopes she will be up to the challenge.
“We are happy that there is a woman, that there is a woman and that it is Kathy Hochul, but it is a sad day,” said Flores-Vazquez.
Rachel Tiede of Channel 13 asked viewers on social networks what they thought of Hochul’s speech.
