NYPD offers $ 10,000 reward for information on death of 15-year-old boy

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Police are now offering a reward of up to $ 10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction for the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy from the Bronx.

Amir james was shot in the chest as he was apparently out picking up food with her sister Monday evening in East Harlem.

Police said a gunman fired several bullets at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 123rd Street, hitting the boy and another man.

The teenager was rushed to NYC Health & Hospitals / Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.

A 30-year-old man was also injured in the shooting. He was shot in the knee and is expected to recover.

The teenager’s parents told the Daily News that they don’t believe their son was the intended target, saying he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect Thursday evening.

He was last seen wearing a dark colored baseball cap with the Oakland A logo, a black sweatshirt with white letters, black pants with patches, black and yellow sneakers and a cast on his right hand.
