Do you want to improve your writing skills? Montblanc, the German luxury goods manufacturer, recently opened its new museum and visitor center so that “visitors from all over the world can experience the power of writing”.
Located in Hamburg, Germany, the sprawling 3,600 square meter project sits adjacent to the company’s headquarters. If you plan to visit, the museum will feature the original writings of iconic people like Ernest Hemingway, Frida Kahlo and even Jackie Chan!
At the same time, visitors will have the opportunity to see over 410 Montblanc writing instruments, past and present, and witness the making of its iconic nibs. But what caught our attention is that Montblanc Haus will host a series of writing workshops, including classes in calligraphy, handwriting and creative writing.
In addition, visitors can also be part of –
- The pulse of writing – an immersive experience that highlights the power and value of writing.
- Montblanc’s heritage and vision – tells the story of the Maison and its icon, the Meisterstück.
- Handwriting from around the world – which highlights different types of writing translated into works of art.
- Montblanc collections – which explores different collections, including limited editions and exclusive High Artistry pieces
The luxury brand says its guests will have a unique experience of “discovering the potential of their own writing with Montblanc’s writing instruments”.
Speaking of the Montblanc Haus itself, it was designed by Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos as a “homage to the historical form of packaging for Montblanc writing instruments”. It has three levels of space, articulated around an illuminated central atrium. The cost of it? Almost $30 million.
